STOP PRESS | Old Teme Bridge Cycle Pedestrian Diversion Options

Unfortunately, due to flood damage, the Old Powick Bridge will be closed for several months in 2024.

This affects our Great Malvern to Worcester Foregate Street Rail Trail. Work is due to start on repairs from 12th February and a diversion has been put in place.

Route summary
From Great Malvern we head to Malvern Link station. Here we follow the Three Choirs Way for much of the way to Powick Bridge and then the Monarch’s Way into the City.

Route summary
From Foregate St we head to the canal and Shrub Hill station. We then climb through Perry Wood to Worcester Woods Country Park and under the M5 to skirt Spetchley Park.

Route summary
We head over to the River Avon. The walk then follows Shakespeare’s Avon Way through picturesque Fladbury and Charlton and on a hand drawn ferry (£1) into Evesham.

After leaving Evesham the walk passes through the pretty villages of Badsey and Bretforton (with its famous NT owned pub) and on through a large Strawberry Farm to Honeybourne.

The Wyre Valley Line runs through rolling countryside into the heart of Worcestershire connecting the villages of Hagley and Blakedown, Kidderminster, Hartlebury and the famous Droitwich Spa with the city of Worcester.

The Saltway Line

The Saltway Line connects Worcester with the historic town of Droitwich Spa, the market town of Bromsgrove and the charming village of Barnt Green offering access to the famous Lickey Hills.

The Arrow Valley Line

The Arrow Valley Line provides access to the Lickey Hills at Barnt Green, canal walks at Alvechurch, and to the town of Redditch with it’s the needle manufacturing history.
