Last Sunday, which was VERY wet, the enthusiastic team who are adopting Alvechurch station met with the WMR station manager for the safety briefing.
Plans for 2021 include planters on the platforms, interpretation boards covering walks from the station and the history of the village, and poster boards for artwork by the children of the adjacent pre-school nursery.

Today sees the unveiling of the new Running In Board at Pershore which has been constructed by Peter Dickenson from Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway, installed by a team from GWR, and funded by the Cotswold Line Promotion Group.
All being well 2021 should see progress on the new car park and connecting footbridge – a joint scheme between Wychavon District Council, Network Rail, and GWR.
In the meantime, the Vale Public Transport Group is developing ideas to improve bus connections into the town from the station.
On to Redditch today where colourful murals greet passengers arriving at the station. A new station adoption group is set to make a difference in 2021. In the meantime, enjoy some retail therapy at the Kingfisher Centre which is just across the road from the station
